Thank you for your interest in the Orlando Magic Internship Program. If your goal is
a career in professional sports, you have made the right decision to contact us. We are currently accepting resumes for internship
opportunities with the Orlando Magic. We believe that our internship program is one of the most comprehensive in the field
since we currently offer 13 different opportunities in several different departments. Those who are selected to be Orlando
Magic interns will acquire practical knowledge through hands-on experience and gain invaluable skills necessary to compete
for jobs in the sports industry when their program is completed.
The Orlando Magic considers college junior, senior
and graduate level students along with recent college graduates (up to 18 months following graduation date) for a number of
internship positions. Internship positions are offered in Arena Operations/Retail, Broadcasting Radio and TV Production, Business
Development, Community & Government Relations, Corporate Sales, Marketing, Media Relations, Orlando Magic Youth Foundation,
and Publicity. While you will see some similarities in their descriptions, most of our intern positions differ in their responsibilities
and time commitments. For this reason, it is important that you read through each description and carefully choose the position(s),
which interests you most.
A stipend of $750 monthly ($346 biweekly) is provided for each full-time Orlando Magic intern.
Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the intern. Please note that any candidate selected as a finalist
may be asked to interview in Orlando at his or her own expense.

Orlando Magic Arena Operations/Retail Internship
Description
PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: August 15-May 31 (entire NBA season) Dates are somewhat
flexible
HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hrs/week to include game nights
CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Junior, Senior or graduate-level students or recent college graduates.
Management, Marketing, Sports Administration, Communications or related business majors preferred. Strong written and verbal
skills. Ability to work independently, and have strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to lift up to
25 lbs. Availability to work long hours and weekends. Must have strong working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel. Event
management experience and forklift certification preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Assist Arena Operations Mgr with event
planning and game preparations. 2. Serve as security checkpoint for all home games—distribute credentials. 3.
Assist Assistant Retail Manager in managing all aspects of Program Sales, including scheduling and supervision of game night
staff, receiving shipments of programs, and preparing monthly reports. 4. Assist Assistant Retail Mgr in preparing merchandise
for game day sales. Also responsible for inventory control and handling money. 5. Assist Assistant Retail Manager in scheduling
and supervision of game night staff positions for security check-in (2-4), program sales (6), and retail sales (8-10). 6.
Assist in the management of online shop, including site management and order processing. 7. General office duties: data
entry, game day reports, answering phones, copying, filing, and faxing. 8. Other duties as assigned.

Orlando Magic Broadcasting/Radio
Production Internship Description PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: October 1 - June 30 (entire NBA season)
Dates are somewhat flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week (Includes
game-night duties at every home game) CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Junior, senior or graduate-level college students
and recent college graduates. Technical broadcasting students accepted as well. Audio production, journalism, communications
or related major or production background preferred. Enthusiasm and flexible schedule a must. Knowledge of basketball preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of audio recording equipment (mini-disc, DAT, etc.), tape editing,
digital audio work stations and some on-air experience a plus.

Production Internship Description PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: September - June (Entire NBA season)
Dates are somewhat flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week, plus
game nights. CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Junior, senior or graduate-level college students and recent college graduates.
Technical broadcasting students accepted as well. Video production, journalism, communications or related major or production
background preferred. Excellent attitude and flexible schedule a must. Knowledge of basketball preferred. Excellent verbal
and written communication skills. Knowledge of Betacam cameras, linear and non-linear editing equipment, character generators/graphics,
lighting and computers a plus.

ENG audio technician, lighting and shooting general upkeep and organization of studio/field production equipment, general
delivery and administrative duties.

Business Strategy Internship Description
PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: September 1-June (entire NBA season) HOURS REQUIRED:
40 hrs/wk, Monday-Friday, some weekends/evenings Dates are somewhat flexible. PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: To assist
the Director of Business Strategy and the Corporate Office with special projects, ongoing research and analysis and strategic
planning. CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate-level student or recent college graduate; Business, Sports Management
or related major. Strong accounting and budgeting skills. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Ability
to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Proficient in Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Assist
with special projects for Corporate Office, Business Strategy and/or Office of the CEO/COO. 2. Perform detailed research
on potential new business strategies (via Internet and/or other resources). 3. Assist Director of Business Strategy with
both long and short term strategic planning for the Orlando Magic. 4. Provide additional support to the Director of Business
Strategy on all operational projects as assigned by the COO (i.e. scheduling, etc.). 5. Assist in maintaining Business
Startegy office in an organized and efficient manner:
Maintain project files

Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders. 6. Help Director of Business Strategy

Orlando Magic Community & Government Relations
Internship Description
PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: August 23-May 31 (entire NBA season) and June 1-August
31 (summer) Dates are somewhat flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week (plus game nights, during
the season) CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Senior or graduate-level students or recent college graduates. Marketing,
Sports Administration, Communications or related business majors preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills
are required. Flexibility to work long hours. Understanding and experience in Community Relations preferred, but not required.
Ability to meet deadlines, balance multiple tasks and think and write creatively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft
Excel required. Experience with special event planning, community service work, public relations, multi-tasking, and database
management preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Assist in the coordination
and evaluation of all community relations programs including, but not limited to Holiday Programs, Community Ticket Programs,
NBA Read to Achieve, Awareness Months, and OMYF events. 2. Assist with monthly events by coordinating communication to
schools, gathering incentive items for the youth involved, recruiting volunteers if needed, working with creative services
on any signage needed, assisting in the development of the agenda and other logistics. 3. Manage ticket program through
developing relationships with community partners, database management, distribution and tracking tickets and reporting breakdown
number of tickets used per home game to supervisor. 4. Assist with writing Magic Magazine and web site articles
for all community relations programs. 5. General office duties: Data entry, answering phones, copying, filing, faxing,
and maintaining mailing lists and donation requests. 6. Work all home games by being the main contact through radio communication
to troubleshoot any issues as they relate to Community Relations. 7. Assist in evaluating and tracking all Community Relations

Corporate Sales Internship Description
PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: September 1-May 31(entire NBA season) June 1-August
31 (summer) Dates are somewhat flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Junior,
senior or graduate-level students or recent college graduates with a business, marketing or sales related major; strong communication
skills, both verbal and written; creative and outgoing self-starter; well organized with an enthusiasm for sales; proficiency
in Microsoft Word required; knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and mail merges a plus. Responsibilities include,
but are not limited to the following: 1. Assist the Corporate Account Coordinators with daily tasks under the supervision
of the Corporate Services Manager. 2. Assist the Corporate Services Specialist in organizing and executing sponsor activities
and events. 3. Update and distribute as directed on a weekly basis the following reports: Inventory Sold, Sponsor Promotions
4. Update Report, Current Sponsor list, and Magic Magazine distribution list. 5. Attend client meetings with Account
Managers as requested. 6. Gather information and write the Corporate Sales Magic Magazine Spotlight page each month as
assigned by the Corporate Services Manager. 7. Maintain and create a supply of welcome kits and sales kits as requested.
8. Make all necessary deliveries and fulfill any internal or external requests in a timely manner. 9. Work all Magic
game nights. Duties include Corporate Sales Ticket window, game night set up and take down of signage and promotional elements
as needed, and execution of other tasks as assigned by the Corporate Account Coordinator on duty. 10. Work in conjunction
with the Creative Services department to fulfill sponsor related signage and promotional needs. 11. Initiate, implement
and complete a project that applies some knowledge of a problem or opportunity currently confronting the Corporate Sales department.
This project must be significant and have an ongoing practical value to the Orlando Magic following completion of the internship.
12. General office duties: Data entry, copying, filing, faxing, maintaining mailing lists, ordering office supplies and
collecting and distributing departmental mail. 13. Attend and participate in weekly departmental sales and game-related
marketing meetings. 14. Attend all planned intern-related functions as determined by the Internship Program, e.g. College
of Knowledge. 15. Promote ticket sales as it relates to our ticket synergy program. 16. Other duties as assigned.

Fan Relations Internship Description PERIODS WHEN NEEDED:
August-May 31(entire NBA season) and June 1-August 31 (summer) Dates are somewhat
flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week, plus game nights and some weekends/evenings CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Course
work in marketing, communications, or similar field; excellent computer skills (Word and Excel required); excellent oral and
written communication skills; proven organizational and time management skills, research and analysis skills and experience,
marketing experience preferred, ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments, excellent interpersonal skills. The
ability to work well with other departments; excellent attention to detail, flexibility to work long and irregular hours.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Assist fan relations representatives by answering
questions and performing duties related to servicing and retaining the representatives’ accounts. 2. Develop strong
client relationships with season ticket account holders, through regular communication and contact opportunities, including
telephone, e-mail and in-game visits. 3. Responsible for working at all Magic home games, staffing the TD Waterhouse Centre/Magic
Will Call, Guaranteed Giveaways table, Guest Service windows, and/or Fan Relations booth on the concourse as needs dictate.
4. Perform and review surveys of season ticket holders, both at the TD Waterhouse Centre and through other communication
methods. 5. Work with Arena Operations and all other game staffs with the execution of improvements to the game day experience
for all fans. 6. Proactively communicate in person or via other communication methods with season ticket holders to gauge
satisfaction levels, and to inform them of upcoming season ticket holder exclusive events. 7. Answer all incoming telephone
lines and respond to the Fan Relations incoming e-mails. Process incoming mail and faxes. Track general trends regarding fan
comments. 8. Assist with all season ticket holder events, including, but not limited to first year orientation and open
practices. 9. Interact with employees and customers to assist in the resolution of problems and concerns voiced by season
ticket holders. 10. Organize and distribute season ticket holder gifts, birthday cards, etc. 11. Help to plan, organize
and execute season ticket holder events. 12. Assist the Orlando Magic booster club, Hoop Troop, as the Magic liaison for
game night needs and membership meeting assistance. 13. Assist with Fan Relations departmental marketing strategies and
fan communication efforts, including the “orlandomagic.com” Fan Relations page and Magic Magazine. 14. Assist
with research and tracking efforts to determine fan concerns and interests. Compile market analysis and benchmarking trends
as necessary. 15. Contribute to the common goals of the department and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Fan Relations, Assistant Director of Fan Relations, Director of

Orlando Magic Creative Services Internship
Description
PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: August-May 31(entire NBA season) and June 1-August 31
(summer) Dates are somewhat flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week, plus game nights and some weekends
evenings CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Junior, senior or graduate-level college students and recent college graduates;
advertising, communications, graphic design or related marketing majors preferred; excellent phone skills; able to deal with
the public in a professional manner; detail oriented and able to think and write creatively; ability to work in a fast paced
environment; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-Design, PhotoShop and Access
are a plus, but not required; knowledge of NBA basketball. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Coordinate and traffic content and materials for the production of collateral pieces, signage and promotional items.
Work closely with outside vendors in production, quality and delivery of any materials for the creative services department
while communicating progress to the creative services manager. 2. Assist creative services manager with in-game market
research 3. Input advertising media placement information into a database that will track marketing return on investment
(ROI). 4. Assist the creative services manager in analyzing market research data. 5. Assist creative services manager
in updating a monthly creative services cost savings analysis report. 6. General office duties: data entry, answering
phones, copying, filing and faxing. 7. Participate in game night responsibilities as assigned including, but not limited
to, game night research, game operations, activities, fan fest etc. 8. Fulfillment of images, logos and creative content
upon request 9. Monitor and update image and artwork management database 10. Design and production of banners, signage

Orlando Magic Marketing/Game Operations Internship Description PERIODS WHEN NEEDED:
August-May 31 (Full NBA season) and June 1-August 31 (Summer) Dates are somewhat
flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week plus all Magic home games. CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Senior
or graduate-level students or recent college graduates. Marketing, Sports Administration, Communications or related business
majors preferred. Strong written and verbal skills. Availability to work long hours. Ability to meet deadlines and think and
write creatively. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This position requires the driving of a company
vehicle; therefore, successful candidate must have a clean driving record. Responsibilities include, but are not limited
to the following: 1. Assist with planning, coordination and implementation of game presentation and operations. 2.
Assist with game/special events while working with team sponsors to coordinate elements of marketplace and in-arena promotional
activity on behalf of the organization. 3. Assist with activities and events related to Tip-Off Celebrations, Season Ticket
Holder Events and play-off activities. 4. Assist with the development and fulfillment of in-game entertainment elements
including scheduling and support for halftimes, anthem performers, color guards, quarter break and timeout activities (sponsored
and non-sponsored), concourse activity and the Sports Magic Team. 5. Work all Magic game nights. 6. General office
duties: Data entry, answering phones, copying, filing, faxing, meeting minutes and maintaining job lists. 7. Other duties

Orlando Magic Marketing/Special Events Internship Description PERIODS WHEN NEEDED:
August-May 31(entire NBA season) and June 1-August 31 (summer) Dates are somewhat
flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week, plus game nights and some weekends evenings CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Senior
or graduate-level students or recent college graduates. Marketing, Sports Administration, Communications or related business
majors preferred. Strong written and verbal skills. Availability to work long hours and weekends. Must be able to lift heavy
objects. Ability to meet deadlines and think and write creatively. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
This position requires the driving of a company vehicle; therefore, successful candidate must have a clean driving record. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Assist with planning, coordination and implementation of special
events and promotions. 2. Assist with game/special events while working with team sponsors to coordinate elements of marketplace
and in-arena promotional activity on behalf of the organization. 3. Assist with set-up and breakdown of inflatable games
and other promotional items at games and/or special events. Work all Magic game nights. 4. Assist with the coordination
of internal and external appearances for the Orlando Magic Dancers and Stuff the Magic Mascot. 5. Assist with coordination
and implementation of on-going grass roots marketing campaign that utilizes the RDV Fan Van, including but not limited to
appearances at fairs, malls, schools, churches and businesses. 6. General office duties: Data entry, answering phones,

Orlando Magic Media Relations Internship DescriptionPERIODS WHEN NEEDED:
August 25 - May 31 (entire NBA season) and May 16 - August 31 (summer) Dates are
somewhat flexible. HOURS REQUIRED: 40+ hours per week, plus all home games. CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Senior
or graduate-level students or recent college graduates. Sports Management, Public Relations, Communications, and Journalism
or related majors. Previous SID experience preferred. Excellent writing and communication skills, availability to work long
irregular hours and adaptability to environment involving several simultaneous projects. Basketball knowledge a plus. Ability
to meet deadlines and think creatively. A self-starter and able to work well with others. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
and Quark XPRESS.
